It has come to our attention that there are gates being installed across Forest Service roads in the Sitgreaves National Forest. This raises many questions and that is why we are calling it “Forestgate” which is really our tongue in cheek label for it. We have been keeping our eyes and ears open on this issue for the past few months and now one of the local newspapers has also picked up this story. We don’t want people overreacting or spreading false information, we just want to get to the bottom of it. We are writing to Forest Service for information but we would also like to call upon the people who go out into the forest to help us map out where the new gates are located and hopefully to get some pictures of them as well. At this point we don’t know who is installing the gates or why. But if they are indeed on Forest Service land then the Forest Service would have had to have given permission in order for them to have been legally installed. We will post the reply we get from Forest Service.
Once again, a big THANK YOU to all of the Heber Wild Horse supporters for all that you do to help us help the Heber Herd!
